Climbing for Kids is a fundraiser in which climbers fundraise their climb and get $1,500 worth of gear. Over the course of this summer, adult climbers participating in Climbing for Kids will tackle one of five peaks, including Grand Teton (Wyoming), Mount Shasta (California), Mount Rainier (Washington), Mount Whitney (California) and Mount Olympus (Washington). Organizers expect to raise funds for BAWT through pledges garnered by the participants for their climb. From 2006 to 2011, more than 380 climbers have raised over $1.3 million for BAWT’s work. More info here.
Backpacking for Kids (BFK) is BAWT’s newest adventure fundraising opportunity. Just like Climbing for Kids, participants raise money for BAWT’s mission, receive a package of brand new gear and take a challenging, unforgettable trip. Backpacking for Kids features a modest fundraising goal of $1,000. We’ll be thru-hiking two of the Bay Area’s premiere long trails: The Ohlone Wilderness Trail and The Skyline-to-the-Sea trail. Each trek will take two and a half days and approach 30 miles in length. More information here

The breakfast is free and there is no obligation to donate. We hope you can join us October 9th.
