BAWT blazes a trail to the natural world for thousands of youth who otherwise might never experience the beauty and power of nature.

  • Since 1999 BAWT has taught almost 500 teachers and youth workers in wilderness leadership skills.
  • Those same youth workers led more than 8,200 deserving young people on outdoor adventures.

The youth that BAWT serves need the tents, boots, backpacks and other supplies BAWT loans out so they can participate in outdoor activities.

Please make a donation today. We just found out that your gift will be matched dollar for dollar by the Dean Witter Foundation!  Your donation will help Bay Area Wilderness Training:

  • Teach 75 more teachers and youth workers;
  • Send over 2,500 deserving young people on enriching outdoor trips this year; and
  • Launch a new mini-grants program so we can reach the most deserving youth, whose programs have been hardest hit by the economic crisis.
