Program and Development Internship Opportunities

$200/month Travel/Living Stipend during internship

BAWT in need of Volunteer Webmaster

Projects include regular updates to the site, expanding site functionality and integration with third party (database, newsfeed, etc...) software. Rebranding including significant changes to "look and feel" of the site.

What's required?
- Passion for administering a website and maintaining accurate and up-to-date content
- Interest in improving and expanding site features working with PHP, JavaScript, SQL
- Skilled in HTML, FTP, modifying graphics
- Experience with PHP, CSS, Javascript, SQL, UNIX

Join One of BAWT's Awesome Committees!

BAWT has a wide range of active committees that help us get urban youth out into the wilderness. Committees typically meet 6-10/year although many committee members take on additional activities outside of meeting.

Program

• Advise staff on current programs and the development of new ones
• Initiate and work with BAWT on assessing the impact of programs
• Facilitate discussions on the board about program priorities for BAWT

Development
(Meets on the 3rd Wednesday of the month at the BAWT offices, for more information, contact Roger at 415-788-3666 x127)

• Create and implement a development plan
• Manage BAWT's overall development activities including:
• Organizes and implements special events such as our Rafting Trip; Wine, Wind and Wilderness event; and house parties
• Organizes major donor trainings, solicitation and direct mail campaigns

Marketing

• Create and implement marketing plan
• Manage BAWT's overall marketing activities

Climbing For Kids
(Meets on an as needed basis, for more information, see our Climbing For Kids page or contact Roger at 415-788-3666 x127)

• Recruit climbers and support climbers in their fundraising efforts
• Organize training program
• Provide support, communications, logistics, etc for climbers

Tabling and Outreach

Description: Help BAWT be more visible in the community. Spend 2-4 hours on a Saturday or Sunday on outreach for BAWT programs. Where: At volunteer fairs, events such as Earth Day and any of REI's (Recreational Equipment Inc.) Bay Area locations: Berkeley, Concord, Fremont, San Carlos, Saratoga, Corte Madera, Santa Rosa, San Francisco. Other locations as well. When: Weekends, throughout the year

Data Entry

Description: Help keep our data records up to date. We use Filemaker Pro. Will train.

Events

Work with a sub-committee to plan and produce BAWT events such as donor parties, retreats, fund raising kick-offs, or our 5th anniversary celebration! Organize the details from A to Z, with support from staff.

Gear Help

Description: Our gear is used by hundreds of kids each year! Help in the equipment room repairing sleeping bags and tents, wiping down tarps and packs, sorting through boots … the list goes on.

Mailings

Description: Spend 2-4 hrs on a weekday evening (5-9PM) helping BAWT get the good word out! Fold, sort, stuff, stamp and send mailings. Your help saves time and makes these projects more fun!
