Inlakech, Spring 2002Introducing...New Steering Committee Members:Andy Arnold Andy comes to us with a wealth of experience in organizational development. He was one of the founding members of Scient, Inc. and grew the company internationally, setting up offices in London and Paris. He is originally from Maine, and is excited to take his first WLT this year. Anu Maria Anu has an amazing array of experience in the business world, from working for Booze-Allen & Hamilton in Chicago and a large company in India, to working with start-ups in Silicon Valley. Oh, I almost forgot to mention the Ph.D in Engineering. She loves bluegrass and is excited to help BAWT raise lots of money from the foundation world. Darby Davenport Darby comes to BAWT with an MBA from the University of Michigan; experience working with non-profits; and a baby on the way (March 25!). Darby worked for a summer with Youth and Family Assistance in Red-wood City designing a strategic marketing plan and is doing the same great work with us. Good luck with the little one Darby! Betty Montoya This woman is inspired! Since completing the WLT in May 2001, Betty has become increasingly involved with BAWT and the challenge of the mountains. This January, Betty, (along with co-Steering Committee member Jason Flesher) climbed a volcano in Mexico. She is currently training for a marathon. New Staff: Ehren Halse-Stumberg Jose Hernandez Hello!! My name is Jose Hernandez, former intern and current Equipment Room Manager for BAWT. How did I become in-volved with BAWT you ask? When I attended high school in 2001, I was part of the Richmond High School Wilderness Club. Matt Dickstein (WLT past participant/BAWT Faculty) founded the club and runs it with Allen Mooney, and Lisa Storer (both WLT past participants). Jesus Sanchez, a former classmate of mine as well as a former BAWT intern, recommended that I apply. Now I'm helping around the office and more importantly, helping you in the gear room. I look forward to meeting many of you and helping with all your gear needs. |
