First, a huge thank you to Carolyn Haynes who has been a fabulous development intern, helping BAWT secure and process donations and grants. She is now off to work for the Exploratorium as a Development Assistant. Best of luck to Carolyn, with many thanks!

Roger Miller joins the BAWT staff as the new Co-Director. Todd Cooley joins the staff as the new Program Manager. Read more about Todd and Roger here

A big welcome to our new Steering Committee members!

Elizabeth Van Benschoten – Elizabeth works in community development for Bank of America. She has her MBA from Haas School of Business. She is not new to outdoor leadership programs – she was heavily involved with Brown Outdoor Leadership Training (BOLT) in college.

Robin Drysdale – Robin has been on BAWT’s Marketing Committee for 1.5 years. She will now take over the leadership of the Marketing Committee in addition to joining the Steering Committee. Robin works for Catholic Healthcare West, and previously with March of Dimes. But most notable are her fire spinning skills! For those of you there, she performed for us at our 5-year Fete.

Nancy Monnig – Nancy has been on BAWT’s development committee for over a year. She will now be leading that committee and serving as the development liaison to the Steering Committee. Nancy used to work at the JCC and is now a project manager for a small company. This summer, Nancy will be climbing Mt. Shasta with us!

Manish Ashvin Shah – Manish has joined the Steering Committee with a focus on Finance. He too will be climbing Mt. Shasta with us this summer. Manish got excited about outdoor education when he worked with San Francisco Conservation Corps. He currently works for Carpenter Foore Insurance Services as a broker.

Jed Paulson – Jed is a huge BAWT supporter! He has been a volunteer since 1999, is a 2000 WLT grad, and a two time Mount Shasta climber with BAWT. Jed has extensive experience in the outdoors in many sports including backpacking and rock climbing. Currently Jed works at Ebay.
