Mountain Hardwear has generously donated 200 of their Exodus line of backpacks to Bay Area Wilderness Training. These packs are a radical new design and provide an amazing custom fit. We’re going to use these packs to support our programs, but we’re giving away a limited number of them to BAWT donors.

A cool and cheap backcountry lantern at the picnic table!
1) Get an old milky-white water bottle (like the original Nalgene bottles) and a small led headlamp.
2) Instead of everyone standing around the picnic table blinding each other as they prepare dinner, turn on one headlamp and put it inside an EMPTY/DRY water bottle.
3) The white plastic acts as a diffuser spreading light evenly around a small area, about the size of a picnic table.
