Frontcountry Leadership Training

This entry level course covers all the basic skills needed to successfully take youth on car-camping based overnight trips. Skills covered include proper equipment use: tent and stove-set up, clothing, nutrition, teambuilding, day-hiking and multiple curriculum options are covered. Safety is the top priority, and all learning is experiential.

The last training this year will take place at:

Henry Coe State Park, Morgan Hill

October 2-3,
$40 ($25 additional participants from same organization)

For youth serving organizations serving the youth of highest need demographics, this training combines educational programming from the National Park Service and the Crissy Field Center, and features a new campsite at Rob Hill in San Francisco's historic Presidio.


Cancellation Policy:

You must notify Bay Area Wilderness Training of a cancellation at least two weeks prior to the pre-trip meeting for the WLT, or the start date for any workshop. You will be refunded 75% of your total registration fees if notification is given within that time frame. No refunds will be issued for cancellations after the time mentioned. A full refund will be given in the event that we cancel a course.

Are you experienced?

It’s possible for those with a lot of experience leading youth on outdoor trips to gain access to our gear libraries without doing the FLT or CAP requirement.
