Please RSVP before coming. Food is provided.

join the board
Be a part of the movement for equity and access to the outdoors for youth of color and of low-income backgrounds. Bay Area Wilderness Training is seeking passionate and energetic people with resources and connections to serve on its Board of Advisors. This is an opportunity for professional growth, leadership development, community engagement, and service. Involvement at the board level gives you a bigger picture perspective on BAWT as an organization and offers significant opportunities for personal and professional expansion. BAWT is entering a significant period of strategic impact and capacity building so we need leaders like you to help guide us!.

join a committee
BAWT has a range of volunteer-driven committees including a Fundraising Committee (fundraising events, as well as annual strategy and tracking), Operations Committee (marketing, website, IT and software conversions, facilities and operational planning) and Community Engagement Committee (board recruiting, ambassador events, corporate giving, volunteerism and community surveys). Our committees usually meet once a month and tackle important, strategic decisions.

Featured intern
Jocelyn Rose Everett
California Institute of Integral Studies (CIIS)
“During my internship I was completing my Bachelors of Arts Degree in Interdisciplinary Studies at California Institute of Integral Studies. My main focus while at CIIS was ecopsychology, how the mind relates to nature…so I decided to create a curriculum for an ecopsychology inspired workshop. The workshop is titled Wilderness Inspirations… my goal in life is to link individuals to their innate, deeply embedded relationship to nature through meditation, social justice, and art. My experience with the BAWT team has been filled with inspiration, and genuine loving kindness. I am excited to see what other beautiful projects BAWT has in store, and look forward to staying part of the BAWT community.
