Upon completing one of our field courses in Hiking, Frontcountry, Wilderness, or Snowshoe Leadership Training, you can borrow outdoor gear that corresponds to your training level for mission-aligned youth trips. We also offer a short-interactive Gear Library Orientation course for experienced trip leaders who want to gain temporary access to our gear libraries. If you haven’t taken a training course, or if you want to support our mission while you get outdoors on a personal trip, we also offer paid rentals. Whether you’re going on a car-camping trip, backpacking adventure, or snowshoeing in the mountains, we’ve got you covered!

It's also simpler for gear library staff to manage so we can focus on delivering a great experience and caring for our inventory. Currently, we are only able to offer appointments out of our Oakland Gear Library. We hope to be able to offer additional services at our Milpitas and San Francisco branches soon.
