Graduates of BAWT’s Wilderness Leadership Training (WLT), Frontcountry Leadership Training (FLT), Camping at the Presidio Leadership Training (CAPLT), Snowshoeing, or Gear Orientation may apply.
Minigrants are reimbursements for actual expenditures only. Reimbursements are provided for food, transportation, permits and reservations, and other standard trip costs.Grant applications will be reviewed and approved by the BAWT Program Committee.
Applicant should expect to receive notification within two weeks if they have been awarded the scholarship with more specific information about the level of scholarship awarded and what next steps the applicant needs to take to complete payment for the course. Applicants must pay the remaining amount to complete the registration process and be enrolled into the course.
If a scholarship applicant fails to register for the course, BAWT staff cannot guarantee that a space will be available on the course once the scholarship is awarded. The course registration and scholarship application processes are separate. To avoid delays and increase your chances of being awarded a scholarship, register for your preferred course and apply for a scholarship on the same day.

For trips that occur prior to the award notification, these documents must be submitted within two weeks following the notification. Failure to submit both receipts and the narrative will result in automatic forfeiture of the award.
