We are dusting off our hiking boots and gearing up for 2023 courses. We are thrilled to announce the launch of BAWTs instructor training beginning in January 2023.
Zotunde Morton was born and raised in San Francisco, California. He received an Associate Degree in Business Administration from Laney College, and after working in various public schools throughout the Bay Area, he co-founded Ujimaa Foundation. He currently works as the Secretary and a Program Coordinator for Ujimaa Foundation. His interest of nature and human rights led to his involvement in community activism and outdoor education. In 2012 and 2013 Zotunde completed the Triple Crown of Bay Area Wilderness Training courses by participating in the Frontcountry Leadership Training, Wilderness Leadership Training, and the Camping at the Presidio Training in one 12 month period. Now, Zotunde is one of our top instructors with experience leading all of our courses. Zotunde is a Wilderness First Aider.
Priscilla Parchia stands for equity, empowerment, and peace for herself and all others. She has worked in the education field since her first job at a summer camp @ age 14. She worked as an out-of-school time educator across the country. She is also an artist and musician. Currently, she supports expanded learning and summer programs across Oakland with the intention of closing the inequitable gaps for all students. She enjoys solitude and fellowship in nature, all the arts & crafts, roller skating, and traveling across the globe as much as financially possible!

1-day course for novice and experienced hikers provides leadership and facilitation skills for planning, organizing and leading fun and safe hikes with youth.
WFA is a highly experiential 2-day class for everyone who wants to learn how to handle medical situations in the backcountry. You’ll gain the confidence and the skills to handle a first aid emergency.
Our FLT is an entry-level “car camping” course that covers all the basic skills and resources needed to take youth safely and successfully on overnight trips.
