Oakland Goes Outdoors (OGO) is a collaboration between the San Francisco Foundation (SFF), the Bay Area Wilderness Training (BAWT), Youth Transportation Organization (YOOTS), OUSD Middle School Network, OUSD Expanded Learning After-School Programs, and the Oakland Public Education Fund. This project is supported with the generosity of the Youth Access to Nature Fund at the San Francisco Foundation. The goal of Oakland Goes Outdoors is to increase opportunities for students in Oakland to regularly experience the outdoors. The grant program will provide funding for trips, outdoor leadership training, trip planning support, and free outdoor equipment loans. The grant period for the 2022-23 academic year is August 1, 2022 to May 31, 2023.
Each school site that participates in OGO had a minimum of $6,000 to support trips during the 2021-22 school year.
Please email Jessica Oya at firstname.lastname@example.org if your school site is interested in additional funding.
